The cottages on the plain at Hawkesbury I asked my mother about them, taking it from the first house at top of Sandpits lane on left as you face up High St as of pre 1938 1- still stands was occupied by ELLIOT family 2- joined to 1 it no longer exists occupied by Mary Monica STINCHCOMBE 3- joined to 2 it no longer exists occupied by WHICHEL family 4- at slight angle to 3 (not connected) no longer exists was empty and run down by 1930 briefly occupied in 1950 5- was coblers shop later fish&chip shop was run by Frank OLDER & Mabel TANDY they later married, it no longer exists 6- was Walt THOMPSONS sweet shop and cycle repair still standing hope this makes it a bit clearer Mabel TANDY was related to the owner in picture she lived in Back street
