    3. Hi Doug, thanks for that info. We have had quite a lot of SHIPP'S turning up lately & have connected a lot to us dating back to 1513, but this one Sarah Ann who is definitely our GGGrandmother has had us foxed for ages. The one Den told us he has found in Somerset looks the most likely so far. What have you seen the Bitton ones on, and are there many?     3. Hi Barbara I was aware of the Ship name cropping up fairly regularly when looking through Bitton parish baptism entries circa 1800 - 1825. A Charles Ship was a long standing parish clerk there in the early 19th century and is "mentioned in despatches" for these services in one of the books written by the parish vicar Rev Ellacombe, who was an historian who wrote a couple of books about the history of Bitton parish.
