My thanks to Marilyn & Anne for the information on Wortley. I had a look at the OS maps site www.old-maps.co.uk which has maps from 1887 of the Wortley/Alderley area. It shows a number of mills in the area but, try as I will, I cannot manage to print the map - only the extreme left hand side of it. Does anyone know how I can improve on this? I recommend the site if you have not already found it. Carole Sharp
