    3. Any thoughts, comments, off the wall theories, no matter how daft they might seem to you are welcome on the following. The Facts. 1 David THOMPSON was born at Hawkesbury in 1859/60 to Edward and Mary Jane THOMPSON. 2 In 1878 David THOMPSON married Mary Ann Maddison at Bristol Registry Office. The certificate is held. 3 Mary Ann died about 1900 and is buried at Ridgeway Cemetary, Bristol. 4 A family story is that when their youngest son Ernest was 15 David brought a new woman home and kicked the boys out. Henry David (Dawn and Doug's grand dad) joined the Royal Marines). 5 In 1904 Annie REED buries her father John REED (born 1831 - Bristol ) in Blue W 380 at Greenbank Cemetary, Bristol. Annie is living then at Chelsea Park Road, Esaton. As was John. 6 In 1910 Henry David lists as his residence at the time of his marriage 5 Walton Street, Stapleton Road. One of the witnesses is Albert WEEKS who married his sister Rosina. 7 In 1912 Annie REED buries her mother Ann (born 1822 - Bristol nee FOX) in the above plot. She gives her mothers address as 5 Walton Street, Stapleton Road. The same as Henry Davids at the time of his marriage. 8 About 1916 David retires and leaves Bristol to live at Laburnum Cottage, Inglestone Common ( he bought it from his nephew the father of Bill "Bills Book" THOMPSON). 9 In 1922 David writes his will and leaves £100 each to his 6 children and the rest to his unnamed wife for her whilst she is alive. 10 In 1928 David returns to Bristol and lives at 8 Grove Road, Fishponds. 11 In 1940 he writes another will in which the children get £10 each and the rest goes to his wife Annie. 12 In this second will he desires to be cremated and his ashes scattered on his mothers grave at Greenbank Cemetary. 13 David dies in 1941 and is buried in with Ann and John REED. We possess the invoice for the Forest of Dean Kerb stones around the grave and 3 inbscriptions totalling 70 letters. The inscription tells us nothing more. 14 In 1953 Annie THOMPSON is the fourth and last person to be buried in the grave. Questions 1 Were the kids kicked out ? If so who was the woman ? Was it Annie REED ? 2 If not Annie REED then whom ? 3 Did David live with Annie for a number of years before marrying her after 1912 ? There are probably more questions than answers. PLease help Geoffro The Pond Dipper Http://www.Hawkesburyfamilyhistory.co.uk PS the picture of David T and Annie BLAKENEY on the web pages is of David T and Annie REED and will be corrected as soon as possible.
