    3. Wonderful - 4 replies already to my WATTS plea. Taken in turn - Geoffro - really? Barbara - Thanks - haven't come across an Edward for that date yet. Ronda - It seems unlikely that Thomas Fry WICKS would have been with George WATTS in 1893. Unfortunately, by 1893, Thomas's son George had deserted his wife, Sarah GWINNELL leaving her with ?4 young children. In 1893, Sarah was an indoor pauper in the Cardiff Union Workhouse and their children had been dispersed to family. Sarah died there Nov 1895. I've been told that the 3 youngest, ?Rosina b. abt 1880, Charles and Edith (both born after 1881) went to stay with Auntie Annie (SPERRY) and Edith is known to have been in Cheltenham in the 1960s (? married to Russell HOBBS - they had an advertising poster shop and this ties up with John SPERRY's occupation of Ticket writer in Bedminster in 1881). Their eldest son, Henry, born 5 Dec 1878 (my grandfather) found work on the Glamorganshire canal and he became a lock keeper on several of the lock gates in Cardiff. If anyone has access to Directories of Cheltenham I would love to have any references to SPERRY or HOBBS Albert Thomas WATTS, George's brother, lived in Llandaff, married to Jane (surname n/k) - no children. He died age 97, buried 31 March 1948 and sang in the choir of Llandaff cathedral for over 60 years. A press cutting shows that he was still singing at 92! The cutting also says that "he first came to Llandaff as a boy of 15 with Archdeacon BLOSSE and continued annually to visit the city until the Archdeacon became Dean in 1877," Anyone know anything about the Archdeacon and his travels? Edward - George WATTS the thrashing machine driver, parents Nathaniel WATTS (died March qtr 1881 age 75) and Ann nee FRENCH, Nathaniel's 2nd wife - mentioned in my first message. All I have is George, b. March qtr 1863 Cheltenham (? GRO 6a 394). Siblings = Anne Mary Toghill, (1860 -1861, Annie Flora (1864) Frederick William (1866), Ernest Clarence (1868), Arthur Edward (1870), Amy Jane (1873), Herbert Fitzroy (1875), & Sarah Mercedes (1878). Again, I have not verified these. Hope this helps somebody. Carole.
