Hi Linda, Your Mary MILSOM has been puzzling me for quite some time. It seems that Mary MILSOM, daughter of James & Sarah MILSOM of Sopworth, baptised in 1791, is the closest match, although as you mentioned she would only have been about 12 years old when she married! James and Sarah seemed to have had their children baptised at approx 2 year intervals, and so I expect Mary to have been born within a year of her baptism. I do have a couple more Mary MILSOM's who I haven't connected with my MILSOM line who are also possibilities. They are (all baptism's)... 1777 Jan 12 Mary daughter of Henry & Hannah MILSOM, Dauntsey, Wiltshire 1776 Dec 8 Mary daughter of Jacob & Elizabeth MILSOM, Cliffe Pypard, Wiltshire 1750 Mar 4 Mary daughter of Thomas & Ann MILSOM, Easton Grey, Wiltshire. (Mary's mother was Ann PINCOTT of Hawkesbury and Thomas & Ann married in Hawkesbury in 1747. Also it is possible, but I haven't proved it yet, that this Thomas & Ann had a son James who was baptised in 1754 and is possibly the same James who is the father of Mary MILSOM baptised in 1791, Sopworth) Do you know if Mary & Nathaniel appear in the 1841 Census? This might give us a clue to her age and also if she was born in the same parish that she resided. Also have you managed to find her burial. If you do this might also give us a clue to her age. Is this Nathaniel in the 1851 Census ? If so, then I guess Mary must have died before 1851, probably in Kingswood. Kingswood, Gloucestershire - Entry 90 SARGENT Nathaniel 69 Ag Lab Kingswood Sarah 45 Berkeley Sarah 30 ? Likely 3 Berkeley Regards, Adrian Sheppard Email: (mailto:ade@sheppardfamily.net) Web Site: http://www.sheppardfamily.net/fh Currently researching WILTSHIRE, CORDY, TAYLOR and FLOOK, all in the areas of Mangotsfield and Westerleigh in Gloucestershire.

A couple of generations earlier I connect with the MILSOMs of Sopworth. John CHAPMAN of Sherston Magna married Mary MILSUM in Didmarton in 1725. Their first son, Davis CHAPMAN, was baptised in Sopworth in 1727. I think the name Davis may have come from the MILSUM side, as I haven't found it in the CHAPMAN line. Have you got this far back yet?
