    3. Hi Fellow listers What a nice day we had in sunny Hawkesbury and what a lucky day as well, but more about that later. The Pondipper suggested we visit the Beaufort Inn at Hawkesbury today" just in case they were having a sale" realy the excuses he comes up with, We called at Horton Church on the way as its so close to Hawkesbury, we did find some M I's of interest to listers which will be posted shortly. After a splendid lunch at the Beaufort (the Dipper said to keep mentioning the Beaufort as he hopes to get a free lunch next time) we went to St Mary's in old Hawkesbury to look at a headstone where we met three people in the graveyard (yes they were solid) the first was Patrica GUNISH and her husband a couple of locals from Melbourne Austrailia Patrica was looking for the grave of James RODWAY her ancestor who married Alice or Ann(both names are listed)TROTMAN on 28 May 1759 they were married in Bristol and moved back to Horton and also their daughter Mary C. RODWAY B. 1769 they probably had more children so if anyone can help with any knowledge of this family please let the Dipper know. The other person we met was John SERMON he was looking for his relative Capt John SURMON and his wife he lived at Petty Fance which if you don't know is in Hawkesbury he died 1861 he was incharge of the 10th Gloucestershire Yeomanry born 1780 had a well documented military history said to be buried with his wife at Hawkesbury but may not be at St Mary's but else where in Parish?again any help please we have John's Email Address. "Was it luck" well due to the Dippers need to get to the Beaufort A.S.A.P I ran out of fuel about !/2 mile from the garage I held down the clutch and we rolled to a stop right next to fuel pump. The Dipper later ranout of chewing or smoking tobacco(not sure what he does with it) just as we arrived at St Mary's but Patricia's husband had found a sealed pack in Germany last week which he still had in their car, and they don't smoke! so not only did he have a free smoke but he and Lady Dipper never got to push the car who knows he may get a free lunch soon at the Beaufort. best Regards Robert Millard The Grave Robber who is very short of spac
