On the 18th of February 1822 Mary Ann WHITWORTH was removed to Butterworth, Lancashire by the parish of Kingswood. She was with child. In 1851 the child, Charles WHITWORTH is a servant in Charfield. In 1861 he is married to a Hwkesbury HOPKINS and in service at Westbury on Trym (now part of Bristol). His father is named on the marriage certificate as Charles HOPKINS. A christening record can be found on the online IGI but with a patron submission number for May 1822 in Rochdale, Lancashire ( Butterworth was part of Rochdale). Is it possible that MAry Ann WHITWORTH did not go back to Lancs and instead went to Charfield ?Is it possible that the boy was sent back to live with dad because mum died ? What do listers think ?
