Shortwood Baptist Church: This non-conformist church drew its congregation from a large area of south Gloucestershire. On my recent visit to Gloucester Record Office I read that people came from up to fifteen miles in all directions to the Sunday services. It was the largest country Baptist church during the mid to late eighteenth century and into the nineteenth century.
