Hi Listers, Obtained these transcriptions of Overseers Papers primarily for researching the ILES family. They contain references to people which may be of interest to other researchers. Dennis 8th January 1762 - ref: P170 OV 3/4/35 Anna Rodway born in Hawkesbury where parents had a legal settlement and lived there with them until 13 then went to service and lived in various places until she came to Little Sodbury where hired 1756/7 to John Iles for 1 year. 9th March 1809 - ref P44 3/1/1/2 John Iles of Saddlewood in the parish of Hawkesbury, farmer held and bound to Thomas Davis and William Powell churchwarden and overseer of the poor at Bibury, the sum of 40. That Elizabeth Collett of Hawkesbury now residing in Bibury, singlewoman is big and pregnant with bastard child and declares that John Iles is the father. To allow Elizabeth Collett to remain in Bibury with her mother to take care of her. 12th January 1811 - ref P170 3/4/107 John Long residing in Tytherington born in Sherborne where parents legally settled and lived there till 15. Hired to John Fletcher of Sherborne, farmer for 1 year at 3.10s. Then hired to Moses Isles of Hawkesbury farmer for 1 year at 3. Hired to William Hewer of Northleach, farmer for 1 year at 3.10s. Then hired to Moses Isles of Hawkesbury, farmer for 1 year at 5 then 2nd year at 5.15s.6d. Then hired to William Hetherell of Marshfield farmer for 1 year at 8 then 2nd year at 9 guineas the 3rd year at 10 guineas, 4th year at 11 guineas. Today married at Hawkesbury to wife Elizabeth. 4th February 1831 - ref P170 3/4/142 (date indexed as 1830) William Tuck born in Hawkesbury where parents lived. When 16 years hired at Sodbury Mop to William Iles of Wapley & Codrington farmer for 1 year at 4 guineas, then 2nd year at 5 guineas and served half a year, then hired to Giles Collins of Hawkesbury farmer for 9 weeks at 1 guinea then hired half a year at 3.15s then hired to Charles Orchard of Hakesbury for 1 year at 7s a week. Since then worked as daily labourer. 4 years ago, married in Hawkesbury to wife Charlotte and has 2 children William 4 and infant not yet baptised.
