>>>Also, seeing your mention of Cold Change Hill, can you tell me where it is? Joseph COOPER was living there when he made his will in 1833. Hi Bob, Sorry I thought I had got round to doing this. If you turn left down the hill opposite the monumnet then Cold Change Hill is what you are going down. Cold Change is on the left.....There is a cottage which you can just about see through the trees just before the right turn to Hillesley. Interestingly there would appear to be a DAVIS connection as well but I need to speak to Eddie about that some more yet. Robert The Grave Robber has knowledge of its occupancy during the past 100 years or so which in itself is interesting and may yet lead to more information. Josephs will is interesting..........and it is perhaps becoming more clear now. He writes : - "Whereas I have lately contracted with my neice Hannah DAVIS of Oxleaze in the said parish of Hawkesbury Spinster to sell to her my freehold cottage garden and small orchard thereto adjoining situate at Inglestone Common in the said parish and in the occupation of Charles STINCHCOMBE for the sum of £100. " I wonder if this is what is now called Oxleaze Cottage (next to Oxleaze Farm) and currently occupied by Seb a very nice man with monkeys ? Having read his will again I think that rather than give Cold Change away he gives instructions for it to be sold. I wonder who bought it ? Can we find this out ? Geoffro
