Cold Change Hill is the one which leads from the Monument to Inglestone Common. Half way down on the right is a cottage known as "Ploughed Out" this got its name I believe from a period during the second world war when all of the land was ploughed out for the war effort. I expect some of the older locals will know the full story. There is also an amusing anecdote about Cold Change being snowed in and a haulier tying his horses to a hitching post. When the snow melted they were found hanging from the top of the Monument!! Best wishes, Anne
