Hi Listers, As I will shortly be unsubscribing for a time, I want to re-post my names and interests. My WOOLNOUGH ancestors lived briefly at Hawkesbury circa 1837-1855. Brothers George and Robert from Suffolk married local lasses (HAREWELL cousins) in 1835/36 and both settled at Hawkesbury as innkeepers. The inn (unknown) may have been owned by a WINBOW. Their sister Betsy joined them in 1843 when she married a Thomas REEVE, a servant at the Folly. My main interest in the area is a bit further afield from Hawkesbury, but as many of these families had some connection there I will include this. I am researching the families who owned and/or operated Trouble House Inn, just outside Tetbury in the parish of Cherington, Gloucestershire. If you recognize anything here, please contact me immediately, as my e-mail address will most likely be changing very soon. Hi Ken. I had a brief look at http://www.gloucestershirepubs.co.uk/Sunday.htm just typed in the name WOOLNOUGH and up popped 1840-1853 George Woolnough - Holford Arms in Inchbrook. Also Gorsley - Huntley - a private house. 1891 George Reeve (owner). Beerhouse. Free from brewery tie There is also The Trouble House Inn listed in Tetbury on this site. Its a very useful little site. Hope this helps.
