The Get Together ( think of a btter name if you can ) will commence at 2pm on Saturday September 30th 2000 at The Beaufort Arms, High Street, Hawkesbury Upton. I have arranged for St. Mary's Church to be open between 3.30pm and 4.30pm for those attending who have never had the opportunity to go inside. As well as members of this list and Hawkesbury researchers who are not online Ed TILY who runs the Gloucestershire List and Liz JACK the internet representative of Gloucestershire Family History Society will also, hopefully, be in attendance. Bring you charts and your photographs and your talking heads and listening ears. We will be taking at least one laptop and probably a fiche reader and fiche. We will have all 4 volumes of Biglands with us as well. The latest count of those known to be attending is 40. However this does not include interested villagers and members of Hawkesbury Local History Society. The potential for us all to come away with much new information is tremendous. Last orders for food at the Beaufort is 2.30pm although food is served in the evening as well (from 7pm I think). There will be plenty of opportunities for walks round the village etc with "local experts" etc on hand if needed.....let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see and I will see what can be arranged. If anybody is coming via Gloucester and would be willing and able to bring an 83 year old couple from there to The Get Together could they let me knwo off list please.
