Carole Thanks for that information. In 1871, Mary TOGHILL is living at Upper Kilcott, Tresham (age 40, housekeeper, daughter-in-law), with Daniel WATTS (age 60, farmer of 3 acres) and Daniel's son Hugh WATTS (otherwise Hugh Watts TOGHILL). Hugh is described as age 27, common carrier. Daniel was the widower of Mary's mother Jane, who started life as a WATTS, became a TOGHILL, and then became a WATTS again when she married Daniel. So Mary TOGHILL was a first cousin once removed to Daniel WATTS, but also his step-daughter. Huhg Watts TOGHILL had parents Daniel WATTS and Jane WATTS, and grandparents Daniel WATTS, Sarah WATTS, Hugh WATTS and Betty JACKSON. Not much of a gene pool there. Sarah and Hugh were brother and sister. Do you have a marriage date and place for John WATTS and Jane PRITCHARD? And do you have a name for Isaac WATTS's wife? There are two sons (Alfred and Edwin) with him in 1881.
