Doug, Thank You for looking up COATES family on 1861 census, I have found George on 1881 census but it states he was born in Hawkesbury (perhaps he did not know), I wonder why he was born in Chepstow. I have listed his family in 1881, they were living in Stapleton, Gloucestershire.
