Hi Carole Here are some suggestions for the WATTS problem you posed today. It looks like Dr William COX married a widow by the name of Sarah Ann WATTS, and she had children Llewellyn (born c.1870) and Ellen (born c 1874). I therefore looked for a male WATTS who had died after 1874, and found Joseph, who was buried at St Mary's on 12th November 1874, age 38. He was the son (baptised 25 December 1836) of Hugh WATTS and Margaret nee HYDE, who married 27th November 1831. Here they are in the Beavington transcription in 1851 WATTS Hugh 43 Ag Lab Hawkesbury Margaret 45 Rodborough Joseph 14 Hawkesbury Eli 7 Scholar Hawkesbury Daniel 3 Scholar Hawkesbury Eliza Jane 1 Hawkesbury James 35 Ag Lab Hawkesbury I looked up Eli and Daniel in the 1881 census and found the following: Dwelling: Channels Hill Census Place: Stapleton, Gloucester, England Source: FHL Film 1341604 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 2506 Folio 101 Page 3 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Danl. WATTS M 34 M Bristol Rel: Head Occ: Haulier Ellen WATTS M 41 F Hawkesbury, Gloucester, England Rel: Wife Occ: Hauliers Wife Wm. WATTS 9 M Bristol Rel: Son Occ: Scholar Eli. WATTS 5 M St Georges, Gloucester, England Rel: Son Albert WATTS 2 M Fishponds, Gloucester, England Rel: Son It looks to me like Ellen and Eli have been listed twice - at their home and where they were visiting. I could not find an older Eli anywhere. There is an Eli WATTS age 18 living in Stapleton in 1891, together with two Ellens. I have found them on the 1891 Avon census index available at FamilyHistoryOnline, but will need to check the original census for full details. My suggestion therefore is that Ellen WATTS was visiting her sister-in-law, together with her son. I do not know who Margaret BARTLETT was. I cannot find marriages for Daniel or Joseph on FreeBMD. I also found the death of a Llewellyn Geoffry WATTS recorded in Tetbury R.D. in December quarter 1895 (Free BMD). Is there a prize?
