    3. Hello List, Time to return to the WATTS/WALBRIDGE/COOPER/TOGHILL/PRITCHARD melting pot! My Cousin Kay Buchanan has obtained certificates to confirm some of the retalioships we have been mulling over; Over to him!. "I have the marriage certificate for Elizabeth WATTS and Henry WALBRIDGE and also the death certificate for Elizabeth. Elizabeth WATTS, daughter of John WATTS and Jane PRITCHARD, married Henry WALBRIDGEe on 28 Dec 1865 at the Parish Church Walcott, Somerset, by licence. Both shown as 'full age'; Elizabeth a Spinster and Henry a Batchelor. Occupation of both shown as 'Lodging Housekeeper'; address of both 'Oxford Row'. Father of Henry was John WALBRIDGE, Coachman. Witnesses were Isaac WATTS and Sarah Hannah WALBRIDGE. Elizabeth WALBRIDGE (nee WATTS) widow of Henry WALBRIDGE died 7 Jan 1898 at Hillesley, Hawkesbury of Heart Disease and Bronchitis. Informant was Alfred WATTS, nephew of Kilcott, Hawkesbury. In the 1881 Census residing with Elizabeth (who was a widow at that time) was Alice WATTS, niece aged 11. In the 1891 Census residing with Elizabeth were Alice WATTS 21, single, niece and Arthur WATTS, 22, single, nephew. In the 1881 Census residing with Isaac WATTS were his two sons, Alfred 18 and Edward 16 and Arthur WATTS, nephew, 10, born Slaughterford Wiltshire. I have the birth certificate for Arthur Hugh WATTS, son of Hugh WATTS Gamekeeper, and Jane WATTS formerly WATTS, born 20 Aug 1869 at Slaughterford, Biddestone, Wiltshire. Birth registered by Jane WATTS. I assume that Arthur Hugh WATTS, nephew of both Isaac WATTS and Elizabeth WALBRIDGE (nee WATTS), was the son of their brother Hugh (bpt 18/12/1825 Hawkesbury) but I have no record of his marriage to a Jane WATTS or who were the parents of Jane. Have you any details? Am awaiting the birth certificate for Alice to find out who were her parents - I wonder if she was a sister of Arthur Hugh" The End of Kay's message My thoughts follow:- 1851 census at Upper Wick Hugh WATTS 22 Unm Farm Bailiff. born Hawkesbury Upton. nephew of Anna WATTS(nee PRITCHARD and widow of George , the son of Alexander & Sarah WATTS) . Hawkesbury Burial Reg has Hugh WATTS of Upton buried Jan 27 1879 age 54, Died in Gloucester asylum I have always suspected that this is one and the same person but didn't expect to find a marriage in between. The only likely Jane WATTS that I have is the daughter of George WATTS & Anna PRITCHARD, which would make Jane 1st cousin of Hugh!. This Jane was baptised in Berkeley in 1840 and is with her widowed Mother at Upper Wick in 1851. This, of course, is also where Hugh WATTS was in 1851! A Jane WATTS of Hawkesbury Upton was buried at Hawkesbury June 6 1878 age 39. This fits well with the Jane WATTS aforementioned. Couldn't find a marriage on FreeBMD for Hugh & Jane though. IF Jane died in 1878 and Hugh followed soon after. in 1879, following hospitalisation, it would make sense that their child/children would be farmed out to relatives. I suspect that Alice WATTS is the daughter of Isaac & Sarah chr March 2 1870 at Hillesley. Does anyone have anything to add please? Cheers Carole
