    3. Carole I always imagined that cousin marriages made family history easier! I do not really have anything to add, or to suggest, at the present time. There does seem to be quite an age difference between Hugh WATTS and the Jane WATTS you suggested (daughter of George and Anna). I even wondered if Jane was a widow when she married Hugh, and that perhaps her former husband was also a WATTS. We really need to find Hugh and Jane in 1861. Now another question for you. In the Wiltshire 1851 census index, there is an Isaac WATTS, age 8, scholar, born Upton, GLS, living at Malmesbury with James and Sophia AUKLAND as lodger. He is probably the Isaac baptised at Hawkesbury on 20th November 1842, son of Sally WATTS, which then raises the question of who Sally was. Isaac is in the 1881 census as follows: Dwelling: Pond Farm Census Place: Shipton Moyne, Gloucester, England Source: FHL Film 1341616 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 2552 Folio 114 Page 10 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Isaac WATTS M 38 M Hawkesbury Upton, Gloucester, England Rel: Head Occ: Shepherd Elizabeth WATTS M 32 F Tetbury, Gloucester, England Rel: Wife Occ: Shepherds Wife William Geo. 3. Bob I don't have much at all on Isaac & his family. FreeBMD has a marriage to Elizabeth BARNFIELD Sept Qtr 1868 Tetbury 6a 527. A William James BARNFIELD married, same place same quarter same ref. to Elizabeth WHITE. Presumably he was a brother. On the 1851 census the BARNFIELD family are at Gumstool Hill, Tetbury, father William is a "Hallier", wife Sarah, children William, Mary & Elizabeth. Sally WATTS has me puzzled. Does anyone know whether Sally is a popular version of something else, like Sarah for example? Re MARQUIS, no I don't know where this originates. Maybe a surname on the wife's side? Another little challenge! Best wishes Carole ----- Now another question for you.
