Robert has the 1871 census transcript on the Hawkesbury website and Dr COX was in Hawkesbury then - apparently living next door to the Beaufort, with his first wife, Annie, 2 children & a sister. 1871 census 27 Private 6 (next door to Beaufort Inn) William J Cox head 47 General Practitioner Marlborough Wiltshire Annie Cox wife 60 London Middlesex Annie Elizabeth Cox daughter single 19 London Middlesex John Bertram Cox son 17 single London Middlesex Eliza Cox sister single 53 Annuitant Beaminster Dorset Annie S Sollis servant single 15 Domestic servant Leighterton Gloucestershire (thought was in Wiltshire? I can't help feeling that , if Dr COX was a Doctor in the village from at least 1871 to 1901 there must be some anecdotes about him. I'm sure he must have been a nice kind Doc because of his later marriage to Sarah Ann WATTS and her raft of children.(even though one of them was probably his!). My cousin Kay has sent for the birth certificate of the first known of Sarah Ann WATTS's children, Naomi, to see if it names the father. He has also found on the BDM Index: Llewellyn Jeffry Watts birth Dec Q 1869 Chipping Sodbury 6a 174 and Mary Ann Watts birth Mar Q 1874 Chipping Sodbury 6a 204. The 1891 Census has Llewellyn Geoffrey Watts aged 21, single, Assistant Grocer, at the residence of William George Gale, Grocer, Long Street, Tetbury. Re the death of Llewelyn Geoffrey Watts -both the age (26) and the death registered in Tetbury would indicate that the Llewllyn Geoffrey Watts death in the Free BMD (Dec Q 1895 Tetbury) was for the son of Sarah Ann Watts.
