Hi all I need to correct a mistake I made in replying to the posting of Sue's CHAPPELL will details, I said John had married Margaret RICHMONT at Hawkesbury where as it was Robert b,1603 who I had pencilled in as son of the Robert in the Will but its clear from the Will he is probably not a son but more likely to be brother to the Christopher mentioned and therefore a probable cousin. Robert in the Will had 3 sons Thomas, John, and William, I have the Will of William who died apparently unmarried and without issue in 1683 he leaves his entire estate to Robert CHAPPELL (taylor) the bit where he probably gives his relationship to Robert is covered by a huge blob of ink, but luckily the vicar comes to our aid and describes Robert son of Thomas as a "Taylor" the CHAPPELL family tended to use the usual names Robert Thomas William etc so the vicar added the trade after the register entry to distinguish between them in 1640's the trades were Mason, Carpenter, Taylor, Husbandman. In Roberts will he mentions Windmill Hill or field this is still in the family in 1860 and is sited to the left of Oldbury church in the fore ground. The probable reason Robert buys the land from Christopher is because this branch of the family moved to North Nibley and all the CHAPPELL's from that area can be linked to Christophers sons. Were would we be without Wills regards Robert Visit my web pages at http://www.btinternet.com/~ra.millard/index.htm --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
