[lots of them in North Nibley!] His link is Abel who was born circa. 1800 North Nibley baptised 3 Aug 1800 who married Hannah HANCOCK. Is this family known to anyone? Hi Jenny Abel CORNOCK was the son of John and Mary CORNOCK (nee FORDS)m, 30 Sep 1786 they had 4 sons 4 girls Abel bap 3 Aug 1800 was the baby of the family, His father John was previously married to Amy NELMES 24 Sep 1781 but she died and was buried 9 Sep 1882 at North Nibley. John was bap 18 May 1755 to Robert and Esther CORNOCK (nee ROWLES) m.24 Feb 1754 they had three children Mary ,Abel, John was the eldest. >From here I am not sure but I think Robert was born 1706 to Thomas and Margeret CORNOCK (nee MORRIS) m,9 Apr 1690 at Yate, He in turn was son of Thomas CURNOCK and he was son of ARTHUR CURNOCKE thomas had a brother named Arthur who had a son named Abel in b.1701 (the first one) he died in 1729, there is only one other Robert born in the area I know of that was in Slimbridge 1734 my X great uncle but he died in 1735 so we can discount him I think, I believe Robert of 1706 married late in life hence would be aged 48 at marriage.
