    1. [HWK] New Lister researching WITCHELL
    2. Robert Millard
    3. Hi Maureen There was a family of WITCHELLS at Westerliegh for quite some time Jonas was the son of Robert WITCHELL and Elinor nee COLE they lived at Westerliegh, Elinor was born there in 1758 she died 1838, Jonas married Mary CHAMBERS 20th of Feb 1744 at Pucklechurch Jonas was buried the 31st May 1781 at Westerliegh he had a grand daughter? Hannah born 1785 but not registered (who its thought first married her cousin Wiliam WITCHELL) she married William STINCHCOMBE of Iron acton and moved to Bleanavon to work the mine and who's decendents were the STINCHCOMBE couple that appeared on Time Team when they did the dig there. Its likely that Robert WITCHELL may be the grandson of Jonas WHITCHELL and Mary STEPHENS who married at Tetbury 5th Sep 1677. There was also 3 children at Didmarton born to a Jonas and Mary WITCHELL Thomas b,1742 , William b,1744, John b,1747. these can't be children of the Westerliegh couple as they married 2 years after the first baptism. regards Robert ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maureen Waters" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 31, 2003 2:06 PM Subject: RE: [HWK] New Lister researching WITCHELL > Hi everyone, > I may be on the WITCHELL trail too! > John SHORTMAN m.
