    3. My 4 x gt.grandmother was Mary THOMAS married Samuel FRANKCOM at Wotton-under-Edge on Christmas Day 1805. She lived the rest of her life at Hawkesbury and died there at the age of 87 in 1869. I have never been able to find her baptism. In both the 1851 & 1861 censuses she names her birthplace as Tetbury. I have searched that register but have never found her baptism. Can any THOMAS researchers place her? She has been one of my brick walls for a very long time. Now, having recently retired (for the second time) I am back to my family history in earnest. I would be grateful for any help. Regards Pat Adair

    3. Hi Pat The THOMAS family were major land owners in Tetbury in the 1600's but seem to decline over the next century, Sarah THOMAS gave birth to a son James 15th July 1776 at Tetbury the church wardens determined James WEBB was the father she also baptised Alice 1764 are these names connected to Mary, did Sarah and James have another child?. Its possible she was never baptised or was baptised as an adult prior to marriage. regards Robert ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pat Adair" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 27, 2003 4:25 AM Subject: [HWK] THOMAS > My 4 x gt.grandmother was Mary THOMAS married Samuel FRANKCOM at > Wotton-under-Edge on Christmas Day 1805.
