Jim/Robert, Thank you and congratulations for distinction of adding to the Roe mss list of S m's (D3567/2/34 at CRO) which I think starts with ano JS m Eliz Mortimer at Thornbury,1558 I can add a little to Robert's analysis by qouting from John Smyth V3,p136 in a section about Cam "Four ancient dwellings in Miles Place, now of late the inheritance of John Stinchcombe, son of John,Son of Robert and Welthian, dau of John Tomlins" Now, this JT has a will,1568 with legacies to his sons-in-law inc Robert S. So it looks as though we prob have John,b1593,son of John.m1593,son of Robert,d1599(with a Tomlyns as witness in will) and a link between Cam and a short spell at Dyrham? Mention of the deer park at Dyrham reminds me of the stone wall surrounding it and wrought iron stiles for the footpath through park---my father's elder bro lived at Sands Fm,Dyrham, and used to get a handout of venison from the estate--those were the days-- Once again, many thanks for the input, which took me by surprise and now have to think about who the Camborne's were, js
