The eldest daughter of David Charles STAFFORD & Elizabeth Whiting AKERS married the eldest of my father's brothers. Because my grandfather was apparently such a tyrant some brothers left home and this SHEPHARD family was never mentioned. I never even knew my father had 7 brothers and sisters, and so my research into my own family history has tended to be very detailed - and of course quite absorbing!
