Brice WICKS / WEEKES was yeoman in North Nibley. His wife was Elezebeth (sic) DORNY. I have the marriage record of his daughter Mary WEEKES to Moor FORTUNE dated 21 Jan 1669 in North Nibley. Mary was christened 28 Nov 1650 N.N. Brice / Brise WEEKES, yeoman was christened 11 Sep 1625 in North Nibley as a son of Brice WICKES, broadweaver. In PRO documents they are referred to as broadweaver and yeoman for differentiation as well as Brice WICKES Sr. and Jr. Brice WICKES Sr., the broadweaver, was chr in North Nibley 3 Aug 1595 as a son of William WICKES. His mother was Agnes (though she is not named on the christening record but appears in PRO records on a land transaction). The family, for these three generations, appear to have held Spittle Croft along with other lands and were referred to as being "of Swyney als. Syne" in North Nibley (an appension to the surname). I don't know if this is of help to anyone researching FORTUNE or not though; I haven't researched any FORTUNE children for Mary and Rev. Moor FORTUNE.
