Hi Nikki I'm forwarding to you off list some information from Cousin Kay that may come in useful in your search. This is his reading of the 1871 census At 65 Commercial Street Aberdare Glamorganshire (which was next door to the Mountain Ash Inn!): Thomas WATTS Head 33 Shanksbury (yet another interpretation of Hawkesbury!) Coal Miner (c 1838) Margaret WATTS Wife 27 Llanwain Monmouth Wales Dressmaker (c 1844) William C WATTS Son 4 Paddington Middlesex (c 1867) Arthur E WATTS Son 2 Mountain Ash Glamorgan (c 1869) Albert H WATTS Son 1 Mountain Ash Glamorgan (c 1870) And just to add to the glorious interpretations by transcribers of Census details (spotted by Kay) a WOOTENUADERCOFE which, on inspecting the entry, clearly was Wotton under Edge!
