Dear Ed, I saw you message, and thought I would write to you as my ancestors came from HAWKESBURY, ROBERT DAVIS and his wife BETTY, their son JOB was christened at HAWKESBURY in April 1791, then JOB moved to GREAT BADMINTON, where with his son WILLIAM worked for the DUKE of BEAUFORT at BADMINTON as GROOMS. How long they were in HAWKESBURY, I don't know. WILLIAM married JA(Y)NE MARY WITTS from GREAT BADMINTON I think. Did your relation work for the Duke? Anyway I just thought I would welcome you to the List, they are very helpful. Happy Hunting! Regards, Mavis Williams, Flintshire. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Edward Sinker" <Edward@sinker.greatxscape.net> To: <ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 14, 2000 9:36 PM Subject: [[Hawks]] GUNNING > Hi, > > Geoff Brightman just contacted me to let me know that > there was a Hawkesbury list, so I thought that I would > subscribe and introduce myself. > > It is my wife who has the Hawkesbury connection through > her great-grandmother, Louisa GUNNING.
