Hi geoffro the pond dipper The THOMPSON who lived in the middle cottage at the top of Sandpits Lane was Fred THOMPSON b.abt 1900 don't know who his wife was except she was the sister of Fred PAYNE's wife Eva from Hawkesbury they had two sons one was Fred the first child the other was Ron who lives in Yate Fred died along time ago he was married with small children not living in Village. Apparently Fred snr 's Father ran off with my granfather's first wife Rose CHAPPELL nee Gingell about 1916 my Granfather was a regular soldier who returned home to find the 3 kids with mother in law what is it they say about when the cats away!
