My transcription of the Hawkesbury PR s from 1813 to1844 show that the spellings TAVENDER, TAVINDER and TAVINER were used fairly indiscriminately. In the 1841 census, I have also found TAVERNER. Even though most families seem to have decided how their names were spelt by this time, I have always assumed that they were all connected in some way.
