    1. [[Hawks]] BUTLER / THOMPSON link late 19th C.

    3. My dad reminded me yesterday that I have another mystery to solve - this time it concerns an old lady he met in the 60's when he started investigating the family links in Hawkesbury. I've rechecked recent traffic and don't see anything although as I remember there were THOMPSON/BUTLER marriages mentioned but for late 18th C. dates. This lady lived in the area around Back Street (I think - it was a long time ago now). She was a THOMPSON but her married name was LILY (Lillian?) BUTLER and she told my Dad about his own father and how she used to go to visit the HULBERT family at Scrubbits Farm, Newington Bagpath. This would have been between 1890 and 1920 when they moved on, making this lady 60 to 70+ when Dad spoke to her My dad believes her daughter worked on a farm too- for Tom Redman at Ozleworth (in case that rings a bell with someone !! :-)) It would be really nice if we can place this lady into the Thompson/ Hulbert clan.
