Joseph COOPER is described as a "yeoman" in 1814, and as a "farmer" in 1817 and 1829. I have not checked the Tithe apportionment for Hawkesbury to know if he is listed, but he died in 1833. Likewise, I have not yet checked for a will. Seems there is a lot to do on this man. Regarding the COOPER-THOMPSON name, what documentary evidence is there that the children used the name in this form? Is this the name they used on marriage? They are not listed as such in the census.
