Hi Phil, Don't know if it helps you at all but there were a lot of Witchell's in Oldbury on the Hill, Glos. Over the last couple of weeks I've been busy with the Oldbury PRs and can easily let you have details of any Witchell entry between 1567 and 1726. Looks as if there are about 50 different entries between those dates. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
