Dear Tony, With reference to the children of WILLIAM CARTER and ELIZABETH WHITTERN, the last one you mention CHARLES CARTER born 1836. WILLIAM CARTER and ELIZABETH WHITTERN did not marry until 25.09.1837 so I think it unlikely that a baptism would have been recorded under the joint names of WILLIAM and ELIZABETH CARTER in 1836, its probably a different WILLIAM and ELIZABETH.
