There are a growing number of references and indications that the Hawkesbury THOMPSONs had connections with the city of Bath. Does anybody have any connections to THOMPSON in Bath ? Isaac THOMPSON when he emigrated to Aus in 1859 stated that he was from Bath. SLightly surprising as he was born and bred in Hawkesbury and was certainly there 8 years earlier at the census. Arthur (William) THOMPSON died at Bath in 1916 aged 47 although he was buried in Hawkesbury with his wife Melinda who died 1938 aged 68. It is known that the THOMPSONs were Bakers and grocers and that various family members moved from Hawkesbury to Somerset to establish businesses. Hawkesbury THOMPSONs can be found in Bristol, Clutton and Churchill amongst other places in Gliucestershire itself.
