Hi all Here are a couple of little mysteries which someone may be able to help me with, especially since we have new members. My gt-grandmother was Rosina COOPER, baptised at Hawkesbury 30 October 1853, the daughter of Thomas COOPER and Elizabeth nee TAVENDER. Rosina's father died in 1854, and her mother married Charles TOGHILL, by whom she had two more children. In the 1861 census Charles and Elizabeth TOGHILL, together with various children, were living at Folly (it's on the road to Didmarton - there are a Folly Farm and a Folly Cottage there now). Rosina is not with them, but there is a Rose COOPER living (as a Visitor) with George and Jane WATTS in Back Street, Hawkesbury. I know of no link between my family and the WATTS family, and Jane Watts is shown as being born in Nailsworth, which makes it unlikely that there is a link there. Can anyone help? The other problem concerns Rosina COOPER's sister Sarah (Bap Hawkesbury 25 December 1842). Sarah had an illegitimate son Edward in 1876, and Edward is living with his grandparents in the 1881 and 1891 census. What happened to Sarah? Is there any record of her burial or marriage between 1876 and 1881? And now to list my Hawkesbury interests again. They are: COOPER THOMPSON TAVENDER TOGHILL COTES LONGNEY and if anyone has come across Albert Arthur Edward PROE, who married Rosina's sister Eleanor, please let me know. Thanks Bob Lawrence
