CAUDLE — I am seeking information about JAMES C. CAUDLE, who appears to have been born about 1641 and possibly died about 1688. The source of what I know said he was born in New Kent, but I find no such place in England. There are some indications that he was born in Gloucestershire. Was there ever a New Kent in Gloucestershire — or anywhere else in England? JAMES C. CAUDLE appears to have been the father of STEPHEN CAUDLE, believed to have been born about 1680 (possibly in Scotland). STEPHEN CAUDLE came to the Virginia colony about 1692, transported by a Captain Hawthorne. Three other Caudles, of whom I have found nothing, were also aboard.
