    3. Hello All Just to get things moving again ..... Some of you may remember the discussion a few weeks ago about the unusual Christian name Urania, which occurred two or three times among Hawkesbury families, notably the COOPERS. Browsing through the 1881 census transcription this evening, I found another Urania COOPER (except that it was transcribed Uraina) Details are as follows: Dwelling: Patchway Common Census Place: Almondsbury, Gloucester, England Source: FHL Film 1341606 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 2513 Folio 15 Page 21 Marr Age Sex Birthplace Luke COOPER M 70 M Patchway, Gloucester, England Rel: Head Occ: Ag Lab Elizabeth COOPER M 67 F Dunnet St Mary, Wiltshire, England Rel: Wife Occ: Midwife John COOPER U 29 M Patchway, Gloucester, England Rel: Son Occ: Ag Lab Uraina COOPER U 22 F Patchway, Gloucester, England Rel: Daur Handicap: Imbecile It seems like the name may have stayed in the family for about 150 years. One of the earlier Urania COOPERs was bap 20 Jun 1766 at Hawkesbury, and appears to have been the half-sister of the Joseph COOPER who lived at Almondsbury but was buried at Hawkesbury and whose will was proved by the PCC at London.
