Recently received a copy of the gaol record of Robert CREW who was "charged with having at Hawkesbury on the 16th of June 1851 feloniously assaulted one Delilah PITT and carnally ??? her against her will". The information, that I obtained from Gloucestershire Record Office is particularly informative as it gives details of Roberts age,height, hair and eye colour, visage and complexion. Also states that he went to a Wesleyan Church?? As I have a family interest I am particularly pleased that Robert was found not guilty and was discharged 2 April 1852. Gary CREWE
