Hi Robert, Would you like to marry Ann Sophia CREW to Henry MILSOM, instead of William? They were married at Sopworth WILTS in 1849. Here’s Henry in 1851 while his wife Ann is with her mother, as you said. 1835 1851 CENSUS HO107/1835 FF.516 - 525 ED. 20 MALMESBURY WEST Piece: 1835 Folio: 519 Schedule: 002 Address: Sopworth MILSOM Henry HD M 25 Ag Lab WIL Sopworth (c1826) HEARDS John LG U 21 Ag Lab WIL Badminton (c1830) Kay has come up with the following information: (nopte hopw the ages remain fairly constant but the place of birth and occupations are not consistent. Must be same family though. In 1861 Henry MILSOM and his wife Ann and family resided at Rouncavil Street, Chipping Sodbury (and indeed Henry and Ann were there in 1871 and 1881) The 1861 details are: Henry MILSOM Head 29 Hawkesbury Upton Cordwainer (c 1832) Ann MILSOM Wife 32 Hawkesbury Upton (c 1829) Agnes MILSOM Dau 8 Hawkesbury Upton (c1853) Frederick K MILSOM Son 3 Hawkesbury Upton (c 1858) Emma S MILSOM Dau 1 Hawkesbury Upton (c 1860) The 1871 details are: Henry MILSOM Head 40 Chipping Sodbury Postman (c 1831) Ann MILSOM Wife 42 Chipping Sodbury (c 1829) Agnes MILSOM Dau 18 Chipping Sodbury (c 1853) Fredrick MILSOM Son 12 Chipping Sodbury (c 1859) Emma MILSOM Dau 11 Chipping Sodbury (c 1860) Elizabeth MILSOM Dau 5 Chipping Sodbury (c 1866) The 1881 details are; Henry MILSOM Head 50 Chipping Sodbury Postman (c 1831) Ann MILSOM Wife 55 Chipping Sodbury (c 1826) Elizabeth MILSOM Dau 14 Chipping Sodbury (c 1831) You will note that there is no son Alfred in the 1861 Census, nor could I find an Alfred to fit the 1851 Census details.I did note that an Alfred MILSOM died Dec Q 1857 Chipping Sodbury 6a 110 who I suspect is the 1851 Alfred (born Sep Q 1849 Malmesbury 8 349) Cheers Carole -- No virus found in this incoming message. Hi Robert and all, I need to correct some errors with this confusing family! The 1861 -1881 census details below relate to another Henry MILSOM who was an Apprentice shoemaker (unmarried) in Chipping Sodbury in 1851. He married Ann KERRICK in 1852. The Sopworth Ag lab Henry MILSOM appears on the 1871 and 1881 census at Buck farm, Lower Machen, Momouthshire. His son Alfred is with him and several other offspring. Also, it seems, a 2nd wife called Margaret If anyone wants the census details, let me know. Hope you are all as confused as I am now!
