Brian On your website you give the father of Mary GULWELL (b 1690 Hawkesbury) as William GULWELL (b 1655 Luckington). Do you have any evidence on which you base this identification or is it just a guess? I copied this to the Hawkesbury list as there may be others who could comment. Doug Thompson
Thanks to Patsy, Brian and Robert for their suggestions re Oxnel. I am sure it is Oxenhall. Oxenhall Court appears on the 1881 census although I haven't made any connection to the then occupants. With special thanks to Robert, I am pleased to announce that the History of the Woollen Industry in the Cotswolds is on the new site and linked to the homepage. It is very interesting - Robert goes beyond the history (adding a timeline of key points) and offers descriptions of occupations within the industry, gives the process from sheep to finished product and even adds surnames and place names derived from the woollen industry. A "must read" for anyone looking to add some fleece to their clothier family info etc! Thank-Ewe Mr. Grave Robber! :) www.angelfire.com/folk/cotswoldclothiers/index.htm Ronda (aka Fozzie)

Well folks, the new Cotswold Clothiers website has begun (although I have much data entry to lay in as a foundation yet)! I would like to invite each of you to take a sneak preview while it is in its birthing phase, read the opening page for an explanation of how it will work and follow the links that are available (there are a few). If anyone would like to volunteer a write-up for any locations it would be really helpful. Also, if you are interested in collecting data for me while I enter what I have I can easily set you up with the process I'm using, to begin where I have left off :o) www.angelfire.com/folk/cotswoldclothiers/index.htm Note: if this URL above doesn't show as a link, make sure you have htm, not html, in your address bar to go to the site (or you'll be disappointed). Cheers, Ronda

Hi Carole and all Thankyou for the birthday wishes. Yes I must admit I will be 26 on Sat (again) and the sign on the door at the Beaufort clearly states the Birthday Boy gets free drinks (just don't get there before I get the sign up). And as for Catherine (ex keeper of the Hawkesbury secrets) a reminder the village ducking stool has been restored but not yet tested. regards Robert Visit my web pages at http://www.hawkesburyhistory.co.uk ----- Original Message ----- From: "ANTHONY SHARP" <sharpafc@btinternet.com> To: <ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, May 05, 2005 8:20 PM Subject: [HWK] Robert > Thanks for the reminder Catherine > Isn't it a local tradition that the Birthday Boy buys the drinks?? > > Carole > > -----Original Message----- > From: catherine.mcilwrick [mailto:catherine.mcilwrick@btopenworld.com] > Sent: 05 May 2005 18:58 > To: ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [HWK] Robert > > Hello all > It will be Robert's birthday on Saturday "21again!" Robert, I hope your birthday on Saturday is a great day for you, with lots of presents or important ancestor records popping up. To a genealogist, that would be a fine gift! Have a happy day. Ida "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of God stands forever." ~~Isaiah
