Hester and Thomas' marriage certificate is on Robert's site. Esther had a previous child, Emma, in 1843. They appear on the censuses from 1851 to 1881. (More if you want it.) Doug Thompson

    3. Jim I've emailed you off list with more to follow as it mostly related to N Wilts, but I'll put this summary below on the Hawkesbury list as it may be of interest to researchers of HUNT and THOMPSON families of Hawkesbury (from marriages to THOMPSONs of two daughters of Shadrack HUNT, son of Charlotte TEAGLE/Samuel HUNT below): In summary the generations look like this : William JACOB (died 1616) and (i) Maud (ii) Alice William JACOB (died 1646) (by William and Maud) and Alice (BAYLEY) Amy JACOB and Nicholas TACKLE Dositheus TACKLE/TEAGLE and (i) Bridget (ii) Mary Antipas TACKLE/TAGLE/TEAGLE (by Dositheus and Mary) and (i) Elizabeth BROWN (ii) Susanna PEARS George TAGLE/TEAGLE (By Antipas and Susanna) and (i)Elizabeth DANCEY (ii)Ann PARSONS Charlotte TEAGLE (by George and Elizabeth) and Samuel HUNT (both buried Hawkesbury) (First four generations above in Tockenham, Wilts, fifth in Lyneham, sixth in Somerford/Brinkworth, Wilts, then Charlotte/Samuel moved from Brinkworth to Horton then Hawkesbury) Richard -----Original Message----- From: Stow, James H [mailto:james.stow@airbus.com] Sent: 13 August 2005 06:17 To: ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [HWK] Teague Good morning Richard, You know me of old now as a direct of Charlotte Teagle and I would love to have the latest info on the Teagle's and Jacobs hope to hear from you soon All the best Jim ----Original Message----- From: Richard Teagle [mailto:richardt@wales.ac.uk] Sent: 11 August 2005 10:59 To: ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [HWK] Teague Patsy I suspect DEAUGE is meant to be TEAGUE. There were many TEAGUEs in Forest of Dean/Severside are in 1700s etc. Apart from TEAG and TEAGE as obvious spelling variations, I have seen the name transcribed as TEAUGE in Ruardean area, which is close to your DEAUGE. I have never found TEAGLE and TEAGUE to be linked. All TEAGLE's in the Wilts/Glos area descend from Nicholas TACKLE, lecturer/curate of Tockenham near Wootton Bassett during the Civil War. Nicholas and one of his sons who was later churchwarden spelt it TACKLE themselves, but his wife is buried as TEAGLE, and his other son (my ancester) and grandchildren spelt it TAGLE, TEAGEL or TEAGLE. There were temporary spelling variations with a K instead of G (TEKEL. TEAKLE) as they moved into parishes such as Oldbury/Didmarton and Horsley in Glos, as there were already TEAKLEs in the Horsley/Bisley areas, but whatever variations occur, there is always an "L" in it. Incidently, for THOMPSON/HUNT researchers, Nicholas TACKLE above was the 2xgtgrandfather of Charlotte TEAGLE, wife of Samuel HUNT (both buried Hawkesbury), mother of Shadrack HUNT of Hawkesbury, whose two daughters both married THOMPSONS. I now have details back 4 generations before Charlotte if anyone wants them, plus Nicholas' wife's family (JACOB) back to her grandfather who leased Queen's Court Farm, Tockenham in the 1570s. My posting on 9 Aug is a mystery - I didn't intend posting anything. Must have hit the wrong button, or its those gremlins again. Richard.

    3. Sue Just to add to the info Carole has already provided, in 1881 Henry was at Halfway Bush, Sherston Henry HOLBOROW, Head, 57, b Didmarton Maria, wife, 51, b Easton Grey Joseph, son, 11, b Wood Lane Amelia, dau, 8, b Halfway Bush Not confirmed yet, but looks probable that Henry's son Joseph above married in 1894 to Mary TEAGLE - she had stayed behind in Sherston with an uncle, after her parents (Giles/Charlotte) moved from Didmarton to Leicestershire; Mary was niece of Alfred TEAGLE of the recent MILSOM exchanges on the list. 3. I've found the culprit I think - we have a list member over quota who is having their email rejected and bounced. Rootsweb have a new system of spam detection - but I think they are "shooting the messenger" in this case - instead of removing the bounce generator they are removing the originator of the mail. I'm on the case and Carol will be re-added shortly! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carole Watts" <carolewattsfamily@btinternet.com> To: <ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 25, 2005 7:45 AM Subject: [HWK] Bounced again! > Hi All > Despite Marilyn’s best efforts I have once again been ejected from the > List! 1. Re: [HWK] George Toghill
    2. Hi Carole, Thankyou for the copy of the entry in the records, have you any advice to offer as to where to search for Georges' parents or even father only, I have scoured the IGI and the 1851 census has him in St. Catherines Som. with his family and looks like his birthplace was Pucklechurch which I suppose would have been Glos. at that date, again thankyou for your help. Louise.
