    3. Dear Adrian, I went straight to the web-page off your message, but there was an error on the URL, so I went to Familysearch, and picked the marriage, but it wouldn't down-load, there was an error on the Url, I will have to try again, I never thought to print it out, but I got carried away, looking at all the DAVIS's, picking them to download, then they wouldn't, so I disconnected, nevermind I will try again, thanks so much for your info, I didn't know where Wickwar was. I'm not very familiar with the territory! Can I ask you, GGGrandfather married again, and wife put on the 1881 census (from the CD, so I know that transcribing may be at fault) that she was born Wick in BERKSHIRE, could that be WICK, BERKELEY, and the person thought it was BERKSHIRE, is here a WICK in BERKELEY? Your observations would be appreciated, and many thanks for your reply, Regards, Mavis. 3. Hi List, While I have been having fun trying to tie in the MILLARD, MILSOM, BALLARD families in Hawkesbury, I have just had a reality check, and found they are not actually my main Hawkesbury names. So if anyone knows anything about William SARGEANT, mar 21 Aug 1774 at Hawkesbury to Ann GOWEN, or their son Nathaniel SARGEANT, who married 13 Oct 1804 at Hawkesbury to Mary MILSOM, I would love to hear from them. Linda Victoria, Australia Researching SARGEANT, GOWEN, BALLARD, MILSOM, WICKS, VAISEY, HALE, HABLE around Hawkesbury, Wickwar, Cam and Kingswood.

    3. Adrian, I had a quick check of the Hawkesbury B.T.'s and a William BALLARD, vicar, signed the 1709/10 transcript. From 1710/11 to 1714/15 only the church wardens signed. Then in 1715/16 a John RYLAND, vicar signed. I didn't see any burial for William in the transcript for the years 1709/10-1715/16, presumably he was buried elsewhere? 3. Dear Anne, Many thanks for replying, I was wondering if they have a church of their own(Killcot I mean) would it be big enough for that? Also, by the way Flintshire has reappeared in it's rightful place, some faceless person got rid of it, noew it's back and has bee for a couple of years. Yet again companies have had to spend thousands on some dimwits idea. Why do they do these things, the people who live here didn't want a change, so why? Sorry about that, but I am bewildered with it all!!!! 3. Hi Mavis, There are some THOMPSON's living today at Lower Kilcott. Lower because it is at the bottom of a bloody great hill (bit like the church really). Kilcott is marked on OS maps. >From the Beaufort drive towards and past the monument keep going for a miel or two until you see the Fleece Inn which is opposite St Giles (?) church Hillesley which was built 1851 and turn right. At the bottom of the hill is ted THOMPSONs farm in Lower Kilcott. Go up the other side of teh hill and you come to CURTIS Mill (another THOMPSON rellie) and then to Upper Kilcott which is next to Starveall. There is probably a quicker way but the Kilcott Valley is almost as beautiful as me.
