Hi I have the following in my records on Jane. marriage Jane 21 Feb 1725 Bishops trans. Oldbury on the Hill by correspondence with Parish?? Jane died 8 Nov 1770 Oldbury on the Hill There is a Christopher Hopkins having children in Tidenham Jane Hopkins 13 Mar 1705/Christopher 9 May 1714/Eliz27 May 1700/Mary 2 Jan 1715/John22 Jan 1720/Comfort5 May 1723/Sarah 7 Mar 1726 all of Tidenham. Where is Tidenham is it close to Oldbury?
Robert, Sue, All, I have just checked my IGI Records and under HODGSKINS I find the following entry :- JANE HOTKINS m NATHANIEL CHAPPELL 21 Feb 1725 Oldbury - on - the - hill. Hope this sorts out your problems, Maurice
Hi Gwen, Doug, and Sue The IGI entry is a "patrons" entry It is probably correct and Nathaniel married a Jane HOPKINS there was a likely candidate at nearby Tetbury as Sue says the birth at Oldbury does say Jane is wife of Nathaniel, I wonder if she dies and Nathaniel remarried Sarah BENCE on 24 Jan 1731the register says Sarah was from Alderley the trouble is we have 2 Nathaniels one born 1700 and the other 1703 did they both survive are they seperate marriages? Nathaniels Will has no mention of a Wife so we should have a death of Jane or Sarah . regards Robert Visit my web pages at http://www.hawkesburyhistory.co.uk ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 01, 2003 2:56 AM Subject: Re: [HWK] Nathaniel CHAPPELL / Jane HOPKINS > Just checked the IGI and find a record for Nathaniel CHAPPEL marriage to Jane > HOTKINS > February 21, 1725 Oldbury On The Hill (Note the Ho"T"kins) > > Children listed as > John November 29, 1726 Oldbury > Ann July 4, 1728 Didmartin > Sarah March 3, 1730 Oldbury > Mary February 9, 1732 Oldbury > Christopher January 16, 1734 Didmartin > William August 21, 1737 Didmartin and > Nathaniel January 11, 1740 Didmartin. > > They list Nathaniel born about 1701 Oldbury and Jane born about 1705 Oldbury > > Under Other Events there is a probate date of April 8, 1782.(Nathaniel) > > THEN there is another marriage for Nathaniel CHAPPEL January 24, 1731 Oldbury > On The Hill to SARAH BENCE born about 1711 of Alderley, Gloucester Children > listed as None. > > Does anyone have a death date for Jane Chappel? > > Thanks, Gwen Lamie > > > ==== ENG-GLO-HAWKESBURY Mailing List ==== > Please remember when you post messages that SURNAMES should be in CAPITALS. > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >

Hi All I expect a lot of you have Nathaniel CHAPPELL and his wife Jane HOPKINS married 21 Feb 1725 at Oldbury on Hill, a long time back I was given this info but today in answer to a question as to Jane's Perents looked up the marriage on the Oldbury and Didmarton registers and cannot find any mention of a marriage only one Nathaniel CHAPPEL to sarah BENCE in 1731 so where has the 1725 marriage come from? any ideas. regards Robert Visit my web pages at http://www.hawkesburyhistory.co.uk

Hi Kieth I don't know what Mary's surname was but she did not marry at Horton she was born there from the 1851 census also living with her and Moses ISAAC was Sarah LOCKSTONE Moses sister in law who died sep 1851 aged 61 so the age entry on census is 20 years out, Sarah was the Widow of a LOCKSTONE most likely Guy from Old Sodbury who died 1849 at Chipping Sodbury but I can't find a marriage for him either, Its probable they married in the Baptist Chapel at Horton but I don't know of any records that exist. If you can find Sarah's marriage you probably have Mary's maiden name or check the register for a Sarah and Mary with same parents born those years. regards Robert Visit my web pages at http://www.hawkesburyhistory.co.uk ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas Keith Marshall" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2003 9:10 AM Subject: [HWK] Moses ISAAC and HAWKER/PARSLOW > Hi, > Can anyone tell me the maiden name of Mary b abt 1777 Horton, d 1853 Little Sodbury, who married MOSES ISAAC 1804 Horton ? > > And a query I thought I had put before but didn't appear.
