    3. Hello Everyone, I found out from censuses 1841, 1851 and 1861 that my GGGrandmother ran a brothel in Leadenhall Street, Hull. I gathered from said censuses that there were several such establishments in the same street. I don't think the street exists today, so can anyone tell me where it was, bearing in mind that although I was born in Hull I left at the age of 3. She was a widow in 1841 but married again the following year. However this did not deter her from continuing her business, her 2nd husband was a mariner as was her 1st. Barbara

Barbara My 1823 Directory of Hull (no map I'm afraid) lists Leadenhall Square as being at 62 Lowgate (not far from the Town Hall). My 1851 Directory lists it as still in existence, but at 68 Lowgate. (Obviously some renumbering of houses by that time). Sorry I cannot help more than that. Mary>
