    3. Please can somebody with local knowledge please give me some advice about how to get hold of an obituary for the Hull area? I am trying to trace an immediate ancestor who died as recently as 1963. It seems as though it is easier to find out about people who died in the 19th century than it is to find details of their descendants! I have a death certificate now but would like to get hold of any obituaries in the local press. There does not seem to be any way of doing this online (I don't live locally, so the internet would be my solution of choice!) but if anybody else knows differently, I'd love to hear from you! Alternatively, is there a newspaper which offers a service and could send me a photocopy? Which newspapers were around in the early 1960's? If all else fails and I have to travel to Hull for the information, where would be the place to go to look this up? Does the library hold newspapers or would the local records office be the best place? Thanks in advance, Carol Weston researching MEDD, DONNISON, WINN, BELSHAW in Yorkshire

    3. Hi Carol It would probably be the Hull Daily Mail at that time. Try their webiste www.thisishull.co.uk. The local studies library at Hull keeps copies of the HDM on microfilm going way back. Phone them on 01482 210077.
