Dear list, I have some distant cousins named NORDASS. When I did a search on the 1901 census I found there were only 13 people in the country with that name, (possibly more due to mistranscribing), and that 11 of these were living or born in Flamborough, so connected to me. The other two, who appear to be sisters, were living in Oxfordshire, and their place of birth was given as 'unknown as from Dr. Barnados Home'. My question is, does anyone know if Barnados children were likely to have kept their own name, or would the name have been given to them by the home? If anyone has any connections to NORDASS, (Flamborough, preceeded by Beeford) I would be interested to hear from you. Martin Cross Brighton
