    1. [ERY] Genuki Yorkshire updates and additions.

    3. Hi All, Please find below the additions and updates for the past 2 or 3 weeks to the Genuki Yorkshire site. If you haven't already visited the Genuki site, then at least give it a go! You can start at http://www.genuki.org.uk/ for general, getting started, researching from overseas data etc. and work your way down the hierarchy to http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ where you will find Yorkshire specific information. There are around 9,000 pages of information there, so have a look at the hierarchy diagram (link at top of above page) so that you can understand how the site is laid out. You will find answers to a lot of the general questions frequently asked on the lists e.g. "Where is xxxx place", "Where are the records for xxxx held" etc. etc. Genuki is run totally by volunteers, and the data is held mainly on the Manchester University server so you will find no commercial stuff on there, though of course there are links into commercial pages - mainly concerned with booksellers, FHSs, and CDrom sellers. In theory, there should be no "frames" in the pages, and all of the pages (well, the Yorkshire ones at any rate) should be quick to download. I have today removed totally the page which used to be the main Genuki Yorkshire page at: www.blunham.demon.co.uk/genuki/YKS/ so if you have any links or favourites or book-marks referring to this page, please remember to change them to the URL below. Best wishes, Colin Hinson In the village of Blunham in Bedfordshire U.K. Maintainer of the Genuki Yorkshire pages: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ Rare Books on CD: http://www.blunham.demon.co.uk/CDroms/ Baine's & Bulmers directories, History of Craven, Heywood/Northowram, National gazetteer of Great Britain & Ireland, Whelan's York & NRY Hunter's Hallamshire (Sheffield), Yorkshire: Past and Present >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Places in brackets are the relevant (ancient) parishes.
