Hello all... I have been on these lists for a short while now and have had some success with my name interests but am still looking for more.(Aren't we all though) If anyone out there has any of the above names in their tree I would love to hear from you. These names tend to be in the areas of Goodmanham,York, Pocklington, Slingsby, Malton. But I am sure that they do not stay stricktly in these places. My BROUGH name seems to be from Arras. John BROUGH was a farm foreman at Arras farm I believe, around June of 1909. I have a Wilson BROUGH, being the father of John BROUGH. I have not been able to locate Wilson on the 1881 census so was wondering if anyone has any ideas as of how to go about finding him. I had originally thought that he might have already died by the time of the 1881 census but I have since recieved the marriage cert for John and Wilson is down as a Laborer on it.
